SFTA MUSIC LESSON POLICIES + TUITION INFORMATION

ENROLLMENT + WITHDRAWAL

  • SFTA Music students will not need to re-enroll each month
  • SFTA Music students will remain enrolled and receive a monthly tuition statement until they withdraw from lessons
  • Lessons are available from many of our SFTA instructors in person, online, or as a combination of both
  • Withdrawal from lessons requires a minimum of 14 days notice
  • Withdrawal requires email notice be given to the SFTA Director
  • To withdraw from lessons email brenda.hively@242community.com

TUITION

  • Tuition statements are sent via email monthly based on weekly private lessons
  • Calculations are based on the weekly rate of $27-$32 per 30 minute lesson and adjusted to reflect 45 minute, 60 minute, or every other week lessons
  • Lessons will continue to be billed monthly unless you give us at least 14 days notice of plans to pause or discontinue lessons.
  • Monthly payment for music lesson tuition is due by the 10th of the month or date provided on the tuition statement for that month’s lessons
  • Tuition payments made past the due date will incur a $10 per month, perstudent late fee
  • Students who enroll mid-month will have prorated tuition to reflect the number of lessons that month

LESSON MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT

  • When lesson materials are needed, the student/parent will be notified by the instructor and asked to purchase the materials at a music store or online. The instructor may prefer to obtain the materials for the student to ensure they have them when needed. The student would, in that case, pay the teacher directly.
  • Instructors will be available to give advice on the purchase or rental, if available, of instruments

SUMMER LESSONS

  • A flex schedule is available for students to continue their learning over the summer.
This allows flexibility for vacations and allows students to keep their current lesson time with their teacher

RECITALS + PERFORMANCES

  • SFTA Music students will have the opportunity to participate in our December and May recitals.
Students are encouraged to participate in these performances
  • Students may also be invited, on occasion to perform at 2|42 church special events and other performance opportunities

MISSED LESSON POLICY

  • Our official policy at School for the Arts is that lessons canceled with less than 24 hours (including sickness and emergencies) will not be eligible for make ups, credits, or refunds
  • SFTA Instructors reserve time and studio space for teaching lessons and they are in the studio regardless if a student shows up or not. In consideration for their time and booking considerations refunds are not given for missed or canceled lessons with less than 24 hours notice
  • Makeups (in person or virtual) for late cancellations due to sickness or emergencies may be offered at the instructor’s discretion. We are not responsible to schedule a make up lesson when a student is not there for any reason.
  • Some instructors have the availability for alternate lesson days/times when given advance notice of 24 hours or more, and others do not
  • Due to studio booking considerations, make up lessons offered may be conducted as virtual lessons
  • A makeup week will also be offered after recitals at the end of the fall and winter + spring terms based on instructor availability to accommodate a lesson canceled with more than 24 hours notice
  • Lessons canceled by the instructor shall be made up (in person or virtual), credited to the next invoice, or refunded
  • School For The Arts reserves the right to provide a substitute instructor if the scheduled instructor is unable to teach

SNOW DAYS

  • We do not follow local school closings for snow days
  • Snow day updates will be posted on our social media pages and communicated to our instructors
  • If your lessons are affected by inclement weather you will be notified
  • Virtual lessons may be offered as an alternative
